  • I-Image orange peel

Does anyone have a quick fix for this problem? I-Image isn't laying down full coverage. It's more of an orange peel deal. My nozzle checks are coming back perfect and adjusting passes from the printer control menu hasn't worked.

      Re: I-Image orange peel

Could be the emulsion. I tried Ulano Orange a couple of years ago and didn't have good results. I mostly use Ulano QTX, but most emulsions I've tried work fine. Sometimes I get minor orange peel texture on screens that may have coated for a while too long, probably humidity related. I will be converting to the D2a ink soon, so my emulsion may change. When we got the i-Image it was a show demo and had the pigment ink in it. That ink did not work in our part of the country... the ink film was cracking.

There could be a few things that are causing this look when you are printing.
          - Room temperature
          - Humidity
          - Printing resolution
These are just a few. I recommend that you contact the M&R Digital Service Department to speak with a technician about this. They can assist you on getting better print coverage.
