  • Sprint Dryer slow to heat up and will not go past 300 degrees

I have an older Sprint gas dryer ('94 I believe) that gets a flame without any issues but will heat up very slowly and will sit at 300 degrees even though I have it set at 360 on the control panel. It will not get any hotter than 300 even with a flame going

What's strange about it is that when I started the other day, it got hot quickly as normal and got to temperature without problems but about mid-day, I started smelling something funky so I went to check it out. I noticed the temp dropped to about 310 and was dropping very slowly, even though we had a flame going. The alarm did not go off either.

We turned it off for lunch and started it again but now have the issue of it getting to 300 and no more. I called M&R tech support and they told me to clean the flame rod (did it and still have the issue) and also make sure the squirrel cages were cleaned (did that too and still have the issue). Does anybody have any more insight that can help me figure this out?

Just in case anyone else has this issue and comes across this post, we figured out our issue after speaking with M&R Tech Support. It was the Maxitrol Signal Conditioner. We replaced that and are running smoothly now.
