  • Air leaking on 2 of my printheads on my diamondback XL

I have 2 printheads that have air leaks. Started a couple of weeks ago with a small sizzle every now and then, but it got more and more over the next weeks.
Sometimes it's ok after a couple printstrokes, but then it comes back again.

    How can I fix this?

That is a seal leak on the stroke cylinder. You can check the shoulder bolt which connects the spherical rod end of the cylinder to the print carriage. The shoulder bolt should be able to move within its mount. As the cylinder extends and retracts it should allow for slight movement up and down as well as left to right. There is a nyloc nut on the shoulder bolt to allow for adjustment. You should lubricate the rod of the cylinder with the M&R pneumatic oil.

Not sure what you mean with 'nyloc nut on the shoulder bolt' (I'm not native English speaking).
I do lubricate the cylinder every now and then with the M&R pneumatic oil. I put some on a towel and hold it on the cylinder when I move it back and forth...

The shoulder bolt which connects the spherical rod end of the cylinder to the print carriage should allow for slight movement within its mount. It’s great that you keep the cylinder rod lubricated. Please feel free to call M&R Poland service department at +48-678-7400/03 for immediate help, a closer time zone.

There is a slight movement possible within the mount. And the cylinder is lubricated.
Is this just the rubber sealing ring that is out of place?
This sound is driving me nuts...

Donít know the inner makings of the cylinder but if you have movement at the print carriage mount check one of the other heads to confirm. It sounds like you need to replace the stroke cylinders that are leaking at the seal.

Curious, does it leak all the time, or during print and/or flood stroke? Not sure if that would help diagnose the problem. Just listening to the voices in my head.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

This could be one of your chopper cylinders letting by the inner seal and therefore the air will exhaust threough the opposite air line and out the silencer inside the head tube. A simple test is to remove the top air hose from the chopper cylinders and if you have air coming out of the cylinder elbow joint if so then there is your air leak. It could be you need a new cylinder or first you can order some manga lube from the M&R store and put a small amount in the cylinder air line connectors and cycle the cylinder a good few times. Iv seen this fix the problem many times. Good luck hope this helps
