We run Mac's almost exclusively and also the M&R Floor Layout software in our consulting business. Great little piece of software.

    Let me be more specific...

Are you running Linux? If not, you don't need Wine. It's a compatibility layer app that runs on Linux that allows you to install and run Windows applications.

If you are running Linux, most distros have Wine available in the repositories for install. I know in Ubuntu it's a snap. Install Wine, then you can double click on most any Windows .exe install file and install as usual.

Like Lon, I too really appreciate the M&R Floor Layout program. It has about a 15 minute learning curve and a lifetime of helpful application! Strongly recommended for anyone with a print shop/factory, whether new and in the development stages or just to be able to view various waht-if scenarios for your existing facility. Lon, see you in Munich!

i guess i'm just dumb. i cant figure out how to use this software. [sad]

i installed it and tried to follow the directions at the beginning of this thread but

    a) i cant find a "wall" tool anywhere
    b) once i insert a piece of equipment, i cant move it again
    c) i cant figure out what the grid spacing is or how to change it

i've tried reading the help manual but that didnt help. i'm just lost. i'm sure its just something simple but...
    Have a great day!

    Nathan,

I have attached a video here that should address your questions. I'm not an expert user of the software. If you have you any other questions, let me know and if I can't answer them directly, I'll find the answer for you.

And a great tool it is. I used it when we moved into our latest location. Beats the hell out of cutting out little circles and rectangles on grid paper. I also used it to label exits, shelters, fire extinguishers, etc, and posted around the building.
